More Colliding Bloggers

For the past few weeks I have been a bit out of sorts. I'm not sure what it is. The change of seasons, a hormonal imbalance, mid-life crisis or perhaps I'm just plain horny, which I know is just a bit too much information, but it is what it is. This particular entry was started a couple of weeks ago and I decided to finish it now because I'm a little more relaxed now and I have a need to express appreciation.

I must admit that the Blogger gods have been very, very good to me. I had the privelege of spending a marvelous Tuesday evening with another of my favorite bloggers. When I first ran across her space, I was amused and awed by her candor and touched by what I was reading on the page and between the lines. I think we are almost always attracted to what we see of ourselves in others and sometimes, when we dig a little deeper, we can be repelled or further attracted to those shared traits. Sometimes we have to step back and consider the ramifications of allowing those people into our personal space. I am very pleased with our mutual decision to meet (though it took us a minute).

I wish to take this opportunity to very publicly thank Bloopty for being authentic about who she is and for her generosity. She treated me to cocktails and appetizers, which we who live in New York know ain't cheap. I'm a little old school and sometimes find it hard to be on the receiving end of a woman's generosity and I admit to feeling some type of way about accepting her generosity, but I acknowlege that they were my feelings and she did nothing to promote them. I think I was just feeling weird because I knew that, at present, I am in no position to return that generosity. What I can offer is appreciation and the assurance that in me she can always find a listening ear that will hear without judgement and accept, recognizing that we are all frail and susceptible to pain.

I truly value her and what I hope will blossom into a wonderful friendship. Through her I am learning to live just a little more authentically and appreciating who I am and who I am becoming. I encourage us all to make connections. There is so much to learn.

See, I tried the whole "hang out with the bloggers" thing.

It was... interesting.

Now the ones I knew beforehand? I could call them up tomorrow and have a great time!
